There is not much of strategy needed but patient is a must in order to pass this level. The first tip for you to beat level 86: If you have jelly fish on your hand, use it as early as you can to break a hole in the licorice swirl barrier. If there is no jelly fish left with you, make a few moves to clear a few licorice and licorice swirl blockers so that jelly can be brought to the bottom. Once you have broke a hole and candies have fallen to the bottom, continue to play the game at the bottom. Look for match-4s or even match-5s. Use them to blast of everything at the bottom. Those hateful licorice swirl and licorice X should be gone in less than 15 moves. You can then use the other 15 moves you left to score more points.
It is time to Use the jelly fish in this stage and it is no point to keep them anymore. This is the right level to use them because licorice X blockers are not really threatening you.
